Game Happens! – The Big Indie Event in Genova
Great news folks! After some intense work, we proudly announce Game Happens!, the biggest indie game event held in Genova. We partnered with Genova-Liguria Film Commission to organise this workshop, meetup, showcase and Indie Game: The Movie screening, all in one day. So, save the date: June 27th is the day when everything can happen. Mostly about games, but who knows?
Our main focus is to gather all the people interested in making games here in our town and nearby: from students to micro-teams, without forgetting the existent and established companies which are trying everyday to create something awesome. We asked to some lovely people – who constantly inspire us – to be part of this moment with a speech to motivate and nurture our growing industry. And everyone we contacted was as excited as we are.
The keynote speakers are: Rami Ismail (Business and Development guy at Vlambeer) and Zuraida Buter (Executive Director of Global Game Jam).
And that is AWESOME.
Plus, we’ll have Nicolò Tedeschi and Paolo Tajé talking about MirrorMoon and the potential of the game jam, Elisa di Lorenzo who will show you the successfully funded Kickstarter campaign of Loading Human, Mauro Fanelli about forma.8 and Futuridium EP Deluxe coming to PlayStation 4 and Playstation Vita. Also, Thalita Malagò will present AESVI, the Association of video game developers and publishers. The event will be open by Andrea Rocco, Director of Genova-Liguria Film Commission. We will bring our experience too: our Federico will talk about creating your first games, with some tips and tricks for beginners.
The event will be in part in English and in part in Italian, and we’ll do our best to keep the event multi-language and multi-cultural. If you want to attend, the registration is mandatory (we have limited seats, but we’ll manage to create some space for everyone interested). You’ll find further information on the official website, but if you have any questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
During the afternoon, we’ll have an indie showcase and some mini-talks, most of which will be improvised during the event. If you want to rant, to share, to discuss, this is the place to be. In the evening we will enjoy a screening of Indie Game: The Movie and then you can come and have a beer with us.
Game Happens! has been made possibile thanks to: Società per Cornigliano, Centro Ligure Produttività – CLP and the The Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Milan. Also thanks to AESVI4Developers.
